As sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the SerengetiAfrica -- Toto Friendly strangers came to town All the people put them down But the women loved their ways Come again some other day Like the gentle rain Like the gentle rain that falls |

THE THRESHER - PHIL OCHS From his debut album. I watched a very good documentary PHIL OCHS: THERE BUT FOR FORTUNE, that can be streamed from Netflix, several months ago. And I really have to thank CLEAN for bringing him to my attention a couple of years ago. His main period of fame just slightly predates when I first became aware of singer/songwriter types. |

NEXT LYRICS: Despite the fact that I seem to be aphabetically challengened when it comes to what letter follows "H," I somehow seem to draw the "Q" on a pretty consistant basis. Since QUEBEC is too obvious and there aren't many other choices for Q locations, I'm going to submit a song by a band that starts with Q but is titled with a location. This is a rather strange song but represents the acheivement of a lifelong dream of sorts by the singer/principal songwriter of this band.
I had this perfect dream -Un sueño me envolvió This dream was me and you -Tal vez estás aquí I want all the world to see -Un instinto me guiaba A miracle sensation My guide and inspiration Now my dream is slowly coming true The wind is a gentle breeze -Él me hablo de ti The bells are ringing out -El canto vuela They're calling us together Guiding us forever Wish my dream would never go away |

Going to the stage for this one and if you listen to the full version, you'll notice that the HH character is really rapping. Right here in River City With a Capital "T" that rhymes with "P" that stands for pool |

Fans,
Tough luck always getting stuck with that "Q". You know we are doing that on purpose to you, don't you? Meanwhile I am stuck with the "S" where I only have about a million choices. Fame and fortune is a magnet. It can pull you far away from home With a dream in your heart you're never alone. Dreams turn into dust and blow away |

Fame and fortune is a magnet.Do You Know The Way To San Jose -- Burt Bacharach Won't you scratch my itch sweet Annie Rich And welcome me back to town Come out on your porch or I'll step into your parlor And I'll show you how it all went down Out with the truckers and the kickers and the cowboy angels And a good saloon in every town Oh, and I remember something you once told me And I'll be damned if it did not come true Twenty thousand roads I went down, down, down And they all led me straight back home to you 'Cause I headed west to grow up with the country Across those prairies with those waves of grain And I saw my devil, And I saw my deep blue sea And I thought about a calico bonnet From Cheyenne to Tennessee |

The connection is in the artist's first name: you people saving whales, giving your thanks to our seas my respect to the ones in the forest, Standing up for our old trees |
