Considering Harrison's health issues, the general consensus that Worilds is failing and how important it is to have duel threats to rush the passer on both sides of the line in Lebeau's scheme I think the position is at a high need going into the draft.

And i don't like McClellin for the Steelers.

He is at 50 right now, out of 188 possible selections the Steelers might make.

I don't necessarily agree with Shea McClellan not being a fit, but I do like other players rated in his range as being closer to exact fits.

Watching path to the draft, several of the DE/OLB players were better fits for the 4-3, according to a Bears Director of personell.

Wild stab in the dark here, BPA at 24 just might be Stephen Hill on Colberts board. Kid is a good blocker and has terrific speed, hands, and ran sharp routes at his pro day. His prodcution is skewed downward because of the crazy offense that Georgia Tech runs. But he gave full effort even when he was not part of the play, sounds like a Steeler WR to me.

According to research from ESPN Florida's Charlie Bernstein, only 40 percent (18 of 45) wide receivers drafted in the first round from 2000-2010 have panned out.

One ray of light is that seven of the past eight first-round receivers have been solid. Bernstein finds that second-round receivers have a 22.4 percent (11 of 49) hit rate while those drafted in the third round succeed at just 15 percent (8 of 55). Of the 215 receivers drafted from Rounds 4-7, only 14 (6.5 percent) have emerged as solid contributors.

Alfonso Dennard was already kicked off the War Board, we saw his stupidity before this latest escapade. When putting together the final War Board, one area we need to get dead nuts correct is the guys rated late 2- early 4, specifically round 3 I thnk is where the meat and potatoes is. There are some real strong candidates that are targetted for picks 64-95, Pittsburgh gets one player, who is it.  Some of the guys in this discussion:

Brooks, he's versatile can play both guard and tackle, he'll help solidify the o-line for years, and help the running game out drastically.

Well it really depends on who they draft first, but I'll assume they get a guard by then so I'll say Chapman. Perfect 3-4 NT but if they haven't gone OLine yet than Brooks.

You should have taken Hebron Fangupo with one of those three 4th rounders, it was a no-brainer.  Donald Stephenson is a guy who probably translates to OG at the next level and the shoulder injury scares me a bit. I might have even considered Robert Turbin as one of the 4th rounders, to get value. I don't like the Josh Norman pick, he is probably going to be a FS in the NFL. Keenan Robinson, I know PIttsburgh is going to look at ILB at some point, the guys I like are rated for lower rounds.  Robinson looked average at the combine and at his pro day, not something that POPS at you.


I like the Ravens draft better to this point.

Donald Stephenson is not thick in the lower body and is coming off a shoulder injury.  That is why is he not on our board along with the following on his profile.  He sounds like he is stuck in the mud, and won't pull worth beans.

Weaknesses: Heavy footed and lacks elite lateral ability ? will struggle with speed rushers and footwork is a work in progress. Bends too much at the waist and overextends himself ? often caught lunging and leaning. Has inconsistent get-off quickness and lacks the natural burst to maintain balance and block in space. Extends his arms, but has soft hands and doesn?t jolt rushers. Tends to leave his feet too often and whiffs on moving targets ? needs to keep his head up, butt low and stay balanced. Struggles with pre-snap awareness and needs to stay disciplined to recognize extra rushers. Will get lazy at times with his fundamentals and needs to eliminate several bad habits. Needs to develop more of a finishing attitude and overall mean streak. Still very green and has much learning to do.

That would be an awesome draft..my only complaint would be only getting an undrafted NT but you can't get everything.  Love the Brandon Lindley pick, we need a young QB with potential to coach up.

1. Dont'a Hightower-At 24 I think Gilmore, Cox, Glenn, and Mercilus will be gone, and even if one is there still think they'd do Hightower. Don't like Fleener or Martin, Adams should never have been on the board, Brockers is a maybe. I don't see them reaching for a guard.
2. Kelechi Osemele-Would love to see Silatolu but I have a hard time believing he will be there at 56, Osemele is still a good choice. 
3. Trumaine Johnson-CB or a S
4. Mike Martin-Not the best NT, but he is value at this point and the Steelers seem to really like him
5. Lucas Nix-Steelers like him, and he can play multiple positions

all big power backs. Pittsburgh needed a speed back, change of pace. Todd Haley needs to make the offense less predicable and you need a third down threat out of the backfield, Ballard is NOT that guy.


I like Vick Ballard but if you don't give him an open roster spot to try and make the team out of camp he could just be fodder and a waste of a 5th round pick.( see Frank Summers from 2010)
