Looking back on the year, App. St. over Michigan wasnt so much of an upset as we thought.

I don't see how you can write this without laughing you teeth out.  Are you serious?  Yes, you are correct, somewhat, as they were the first team in the Top 5 to be beaten down like that.  And, it's not old news.  Bringing up the Colorado hail mary pass against Michigan would be old news, my friend.

I know that many upsets and crazy things happened this year; however, the App St and Stanford wins are irrefutably huge big time losses.  Especially with 2 of the top programs ever.  Wow!

Yes I know ND got blown out there last two BCS games also and they were overrated.  See I saved you typing.  Oh but wait.  OSU was blown out there last two BCS games and lost by the same amount of points as ND.  So obviously OSU was overrated also because you can't have .....Come on son, what don't you understand that one of NDs losses came against the team you are running you're mouth about.  Now's a great time for you to jump off, that bandwagon has pretty much come to a stop.

As if Stanford and the academies are any worse then the cupcakes you guys play?  Our cupcakes were at least in bowl games.  Where was Akron and Youngstown st?  The only bad academy is Army.  Navy is a pretty good team, at least they were under Johnson, not sure what the future will hold for them.  Air Force also wasn't bad.  They weren't great but they weren't horrible either.

Nice post carolina8800!  Here are a few thoughts:

I know that the press are hyping up ND's recruiting class this year but, we shall see.

If you were graduating high school this year, why wouldn't you go to Notre Dame.  You probably won't be sitting on the bench for too long.  They need help now!  Plus you know that you will be getting plenty of TV exposure.

It could have been this year!  The Rose Bowl is the #1 PAC 10 (USC this year) against the #1 BIG 10 (Ohio State tis year).  Since Ohio State went to BCS NC Game, the Rose Bowl had first choice to get whoever they wanted to replace Ohio State.  WHY DIDN'T THEY PICK GEORGIA??  The Rose Bowl instead took Illinois.....    hmmmmm.

I hear you "greateststory"!  Should have been Georgia/USC.  I should mention that I am an USC fan having lived not far from campuss for years.  Anyway, this year's Rose Bowl is why I have a big problem with "tradition".  It screws things up!  The entire system is a joke.  Oh well, what'ya going to do?  I don't "hate" the Big 11 or anything, in fact, I grew up in Ohio!  I just try to see things the way they are, not how I want.  I don't think I've seen somebody be a fan of LSU, Saints......and the Yankees?  LOL!  New York transplant? 

I have to agree with you guys about the Rose Bowl.  I believe that would of been one heck of a game to watch!  Both of those teams were kicking on all cylinders at the end of the season.  But, yep, because of the 'tradition', it didn't happen.  I really hope that all the talk lately and the proposal are the beginning of real efforts to get a playoff started.  Unfortunately, for the time being, they will probably add a plus one, which I really don't want.  I believe that would just make it worse than it is now.

I didnt say it wasnt an upset. It was. A big one. But it wasnt as big as we thought at the time. Think back to that day.... did anybody think, before that game, Michigan would lose 4 games, no matter who they were to? Nah.... thats why everybody was shocked, #5 going down in their house. But looking at the year as a whole.... I think the Michigan loss was more of just a foreshadowing.

No, it is just that Louisiana does not have a MLB team.  I actually pull for Astros in the NL and Yankees in the AL.  I have been to many Astros games.  Growing up my father was a Yankee fan, so I guess I just was brought up that way.  CSSSports will not let you put two MLB teams as favorites.  BUT, if the Astros ever played the Yankees in the World Series, I would be all for the Astros.  I guess I better go change it to Astros.

Growing up in New Orleans w/out a pro baseball team, you had to pick someone. The easy choice was the Astros since there were 5 hours away. But since WGN is like a local station in NOLA, I always watched the Cubs growing up. I also had family in St. Louis and I went to a few games in the early to mid 80's. Watching Ozzie do his back flip has always made me a Cardinals fan for life!

Anyway, how great of a game it would have been to see the Trojans and Bulldogs...?

Haha, that's funny you were posting this at the same time as I was talking about the Astros too. But it was really the Cubs and Cardinals for me. I always liked the Yankees because of Babe Ruth!
