I was going to admit to the veto right away, but boy am I so glad now that I didn't...I literally fell out of my chair when I read this the first time and it has been putting a smile on my face for the last 15 minutes.  Don DaVeto is how I will refer to Dave in all of my future posts....absolutely PERFECT!!!

I vetoed the deal simply because I don't think Holland is anything more than waiver wire fodder...for the #5 SS in the league, you simply have to demand more.

ITS FRIDAY!!  

Good TGIF Morning GB10, looks like Vickie can't tolerate the PAIN TRAIN making an extended stop in Valville

I'm still watching Olympics over MLB games, but now that Swimming and Gymnastics are wrapping up, I will be interested to see what two sports NBC decides to cram down our throats.  I'm guessing track & field and then volleyball or basketball, but I'm really hoping they will show us more of the medal heats of some of these other sports...even if they don't have an American competitor in contention.

The Justice League now has 6 acceptances with their draft week preference in parentheses: Fred (none), Scott (8/27), Jamie (none), Marty (none), Frank (none), and Rick (8/20)...I'm still waiting for responses from Don DaVeto, Bib, Val, Vikes, Comet, and SJ76

The smackdown of Val continues as I have extended my lead to 116.5...with her only having 2 SPs remaining, I think I would win by more than 50 points even if I didn't have another start the rest of the week.

I'm not sure why Marty sent me a trade for Alcides Escobar (a one week fill-in player I just dropped this week) without asking for anyone in return...is he about to drop him and wants to make sure I get him or is he just trying to get me to accept a deal so that the rest of the league can enjoy vetoing it...hell maybe he's just an idiot...I don't know...lol

And Elvis for Holland is fair.  Both were dropped awhile ago and both were picked up.   Fred, maybe you should chill on the vetoing, especially when your boy and "ace" Cliff Lee is about to be put on the waiver wire in MLB...

Elvis has outscored Holland by more than 100 points YTD and is currently the #3 SS in the entire league...Holland is not in the Top 30 SPs when looking at any of the available breakdowns and is simply a mediocre option that should only be starting when he has a 2 start week with two favorable matchups...not an every day starter like Andrus.  Since their are two vetoes, I'm obviously not the only one that sees it this way, but believe I'm a hater if you want.

As for Cliff Lee, he just scored 28.5 points in his first start this week and still has another to go...not to mention he might be getting traded to a real contender instead of the being on the Phillies who are clearly out of playoff contention.  Yeah, you're right, I should probably drop him to pick up a two start option next week like Bedard or Zito...let me get right on that.

The rest of the league owners needs to veto the ludicrous trade offer that Fred pulled the switch on.  Of course, I need something in return for Escobar.  I merely offered him up so that Fred could make an offer that he thought would be fair.  Obviously, I'm dealing with a sneaky and underhanded person.  What kind of nerve is that?

Exactly.  And it really shouldn't matter.  A trade is between 2 people that deem the trade fair.

Fred just gets his stat book out and looks at it, then makes his decision when it's not really his decision.  Both players were dropped.  Both players were picked up.  now both are being traded.  End of story.
