I get it Sammy my boy I thought that was awesome by the way! But why do so many people not like this guy? He wins and wins and wins. What is it about him - his arm? It doesn't seem that bad to me. He hit some really hard throws during that stretch last year. He is a proven winner, has Peyton Hillis running abilities, and can throw a good ball. He is like mike Vick on steriods so to speak. A defensive nightmare. I understand he has a weird throwing wind up.

I'm very interested in how people respond so differently to Tebow. I have a kind of general theory....

For his fans, Tebow is a victory-from-the-jaws-of-defeat winner and a man of faith - like a Biblical hero. More than that, his faith is credible. When he has an opportunity to give stupid answers he often gives surprisingly good ones - like the business about people wearing Broncos #15 jerseys with "Jesus" on the back, which many Christians were reasonably upset about. Tebow said, "I don't know what to think about that because I don't know where people's hearts are.... Only God can judge because only God knows what's truly in a person's heart." Right answer, and one that might make some Christians think, "Whoa, that dude understands Christianity better than I do."

For his detractors, Tebow is less like a Biblical hero and more like a Disney hero - you know, the kid fighting for Good who, just when things are darkest, finds some inner strength and rises with steely-eyed determination, and this somehow allows him to defeat opponents who are stronger, better trained, and more talented than him. Tebow detractors watch him and think, "But life isn't a Disney movie," and this leads for them to root for him to fail, because not only is life not like a Disney movie - it shouldn't be like a Disney movie. Because Disney movies are simplistic and superficial. For them, the next miracle win by Tebow is just propping up an illusion that life is simpler than it really is. And to top it off, Tebow comes fresh off his victory and says, "I just want to give a shout out to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ" which, even if it's completely unintentional, makes it sound like his miraculous win and his faith are linked -- makes it sound like whatever shortcomings other people (or other QBs) may be having in their lives come from them not loving Jesus enough. And that grates on people.

Now if Tebow's faith gets unlinked from a sense of unearned success, he'll probably get more respect. If he suffers a Thiesman-like injury, and the first chance he gets at a microphone he still flashes that gung-ho schoolboy smile and says, "I just want to give a shout out to my Lord and savior Jesus Christ," his detractors may give him a little more respect. Or even if he just struggles and grows the way all QBs do - even great ones.

That is great psychological insight wil. And I think you are absolutly right. People who love Tebow or want to love him do so because they respect and value his strong faith in the Lord. If you're someone who loves the Lord then you are someone who wants Tebow to do good because he praises the Lord for everything that comes his way and he helps spread the word about the Lord. I know that is one of the biggest reasons I like the guy. But I also like the fairy tail side of him too. The combination is why I want him on my team. If God helps you even a little bit then all things are posible. Do I think all those 4rth quarter combacks last year were just Tebow's doing. No way! God definitely was guiding those plays. And that's why I feel that God will bring this man a championship!

The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms on a contract with former Packers quarterback Matt Flynn, the team announced Sunday.

The contract is for three years and $26 million with $10 million guaranteed, a league source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.

Flynn agreed to a deal with Seattle after visiting both the Seahawks and the Miami Dolphins over the past week.

The 26-year-old backup to NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers started in one game last season and set Packers records with 480 yards passing and six touchdowns in a Week 17 victory over the Lions.

Rodgers sat out the game, which was meaningless to Green Bay since it already had wrapped up the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

A seventh-round pick out of LSU in 2008, Flynn already had the attention of general managers around the league after he nearly beat New England last season while Rodgers was recovering from a concussion.

White - you missed a large group of people who dislike Me-bow.  I think the name I use for him should explain but I will do one better.  Since his time with the Gators (a team I dislike also), success was about always him and God - never his team-mates or coaches.  I have no problem with religion, nor do I have a problem with 'winners', nor do I have one with success.  I do have a problem with players (and people in general) that make everything 'good' all about themselves (ie, glory hound).  Why does he keep the ball on almost every goal-line or critical play?  Some may say it's because he's a fullback in a QB jersey so why hand off, some will say - it works so why not.  Me, I'll say it is a bit of both but more than those - selfishness.  Perhaps I am just too harse on the guy - - but my son went to FSU so I'm allowed!!!

If you decide on any team, please don't pick the Bears. There's enough manic-depressive bandwagonning Bears fans. Not that I'm calling The Foot a manic-depressive bandwagonner.

And Bears don't have feet either, technically.

As for the God-Tebow views, nicely said Will. But another angle may be that God has absolutely zero interest in the outcome of a football game. Any game. So praying about a victory (which in the grand scheme of life) could be viewed as selfish or somewhat meaningless (since there are bigger issues to pray about). Can you picture Jesus praying for a Saints victory? With this view in mind, some fans may feel that religion and football should not mix. So Tebow becomes the poster child for their angst.

What do you guys make of the Niner's signing Manningham?
It sure seems like the 49ers are lining up some weapons for the next QB. Which might be Manning. I like the signing, but it's all relative. In otherwords, if Manning is throwing to these guys their stock rises. If someone like Smith is throwing to them, do we really expect a huge improvement, fantasy-wise?

Sam funny stuff as usuall I will consider the Rams. I actually always kinda of like them anyways. Joe funny stuff too. And don't worry Ireally can't stand the Bears. My wife's sister's ex husband is a pompass bears fan (he kinda reminds me of the guy who was dating tara reid in van wilder before van stole her from him.) Allthough we a good buddys I hate the Bears. Even more so since they stole Marshall. So no worries there! Now my hope turns to Tebow. I would pray that Manning goes to Denver and that Miami can somehow get Tebow but I agree with Lefty. Prayer should be used on more importsnt issues than football and who your QB is.

Lefty one other note on religion. There is actually a reason I can think of as to why God would interact in a meaningless football game. That reason would be to spread his word and reach people. Tebow could very well be the ambassidor to millions of young people helping them turn to God. Now that is a pretty powerful reason, wouldn't you say?

It's almost like when ever you see someone win an oscar or a grammy or hit a home run or score a TD for that matter. The first thing they do is thank God or point up to the heavens. Tebow is doing the same thing only he is doing it on a much, much higher level thus giving God all the credit. So rather then giving his teamates credit for winning he should probably thank God for giving him his teamates who helped him win. Thus the teamates would get credit indirectly.

I dunno - on the one hand, does God really need an NFL QB to win games to spread his word? He is God, after all. Straightening out a couple of fourth-quarter passes to get his guy some TV time feels less like the Almighty and more like the Winter Warlock.

On the other hand: Isaiah 45:15.
