top 3 cliches in fantasy baseball 1. sell high 2. I'm in a really deep league 3. whenever anybody has a breakout season-"i drafted him in the 12th round-best value pick ever".
How the Heck did this happen. From a lock win to disaster. Especially bad since Whiff Jackson took him deep. Still ya gotta keep him active. He should bounce back and be ok,
Wow, I love some of the over reactions from just one bad inning. Plus it was Detroit for crying out loud. I guess we should be saying "sell high" as well for Weaver after his bad game against Texas. Peavy is still a stud and should bounce back just fine in his next start. You will regret trying to trade him now.
no one can really say for sure if he's fully healed and durable. hasn't pitched 200 innings since 07' so.... either way, I stoked for him a person getting his career back on track and that I picked him up in week 2.
Grew up in Boston during the Rocket's dominance. Was in college in Boston during Pedro's run. Was in San Diego when he was at his best during his pitching triple crown of 2007 and he was right at the level of those guys (for 1 year). He has immense talent and unique stuff. If he can pitch like this for the remainder of the year I'll make him my keeper next year.
Another start, another quality start, and another victory for Jake Peavy. Where are all of the people who were saying "sell high" after his one bad inning against the Detroit Tigers?
I love fantasy cliches- "rookie owner"..."sell now".... "don't look back" . I'm going to start up a new drinking game where you randomly peruse through CBS posts and every time you run across cliches you drink. Previous post is drink x's 3.
Man, almost clicked "accept" on a trade offer for this guy. Good thing my instincts told me he was finished. LMAO ... Owners might be able to get equal value for him in a trade now, but don't reach higher than a Coco Crisp.
Once again, it was just one bad inning. I know you can't use that excuse every single time, but he was still able to go 6 innings. The 7 earned runs are discouraging, but the 9 strike outs were very encouraging as well. I'll take the win this week, but it would nice to see a more consistent Peavy.
Never want to see your SP give up 7 ER... But hey, he got 9 Ks and a W. This time last year he wouldn't have gone 5 innings in a game like this, but he battled back.
When figuring out what to do with Peavy I say look at the season 10 games started 8 quality starts and 2 complete games. He is has had more success than failure this season. Do not have a knee jerk reaction to this bad start.
his "bad" starts are better than a lot of other pitchers good starts. he had one bad inning vs detroit, and looked good against cleveland as well. WHIP is way down, and 9 k's to boot. not panicking at all.
