Lance Kendricks is amazing so far, the Rams are walking on air over that second rounder. What rakes my coals is that these NFL analysts are now saying Kendricks will be special. REALLY?
Two kids we liked, local broadcast last night Giants vs. Cheaters. Tyler Sash has pop, and Da'Rel Scott looks solid. In fact Scott rumbled 65 yards, untouched on a fake punt, the ST for Belicheat had no clue how to recognize or defend it, it was comical to watch. Scott also had a 97 yard TD run vs. the Bears a few weeks back.
What do you guys think of Mike Martin, DT out of Michigan. He's a big body that has a never-ending motor. He's a good, hard worker that seems to fit the Pittsburgh mold. I see him going in the 2nd or 3rd round in the draft and could possibly be a guy who helps replace Hampton and Hoke.
Stl
I will pay attention to Martin when I watch Michigan next week-end if they are on tv.
Akwasi-Owunsuh-Ansah and Brandon Tate both released. Barry Church and Davon House both made it. Elisha Joseph was also cut
What would you guys think if the Steelers gave Denard Robinson some serious thought next year and drafted him (yes I am being a bit of a Michigan homer). Since Dixon and Lefty seem unlikely to return, the Steelers are going to need to groom a backup. Batch will likely come back for one more season, barring a bad injury. He is playing more in a pro-style offense this year, and has the athleticism and speed to be used as a bigtime weapon in the NFL.
StlCrtn,
Not sure about Denard Robinson, I have a guy in mind out of A&M, Ryan Tannehill to develop as a backup. Former Wideout so he understand routes. Runs a 4.6 and with that OL it's almost a must! He is 6-4 so he can see over the top , check him out on youtube. I also like his completion percentage, he is more accurate than some of the guys rated just ahead of him.
Nyb
I know who you're talking about. I was able to watch him a couple of times late last year. Seems like an interesting prospect. Denard has Vick-like speed and by the time he is done at UofM, should be an above-average passer. It's not like he would be expected to start, let alone anybody drafted. He can sit and learn behind one of the premier playmakers from the QB position.
RE: I have a guy in mind out of A&M, Ryan Tannehill to develop as a backup.
I wrote earlier in this thread about QB Ryan Lindley ( SanDiego St ) 6-4 215. He had 1285 att going into the 2011 season with 67 TD's and 39 Ints. He also has a 129.8 passer rating. Yesturday he threw 4 more TD's. He is probabley a 3rd round draft pick which is right around where the Steelers should be looking. There backup QB situation is mess. Leftwich has a strong arm but thats about it. Dixon has had 2 major leg injuries and his legs were his best weapon. Batch is the best of the bunch and has been for years but his time is ending SOON.
On another subject I saw House made the 53 for the Packers. I watched a bit of their preseason games and didnt see him play very much. I did see Elisha Joesph and teams had to double team him just like in college. He will be on a practice squad for some team while he gains a little more size but he will be a good NFL player in future.
Ryan Lindley throws a lot of TD's however he also throws a lot of incomplete balls, his accurracy is the first thing I would question. Just watched Dennis Dixon throw some grounders and floaters to Antonio Brown, we don't need a guy who cannot put it where it belongs. One play he threw it to the wrong shoulder in the endzone, anyone see that and roll their eyes? That and Jimmy Clausen STILL SUCKS and Jeremy Shockey is still a jaccauf. The TD that Newton threw, Ryan Mundy whiffed on tackle at the 5 yard line....
In other corner news, I determined other first-round corner prospects such as Alfonzo Dennard, Jayron Hosley, and Cliff Harris are not fits for our defense. All are smallish and lack physicality in their game.
Minnifield is actually one of my favorite 2012 corners. He's right up there with Stephon Gilmore.
Off Topic, both me and Pure Steel joined this message board 4 years ago today.
It's also Daman Wayans 51st Birthday, one of my all-time favorite movies was The Last Boy Scout. My date for that movie was even better than the movie! There is one movie that needed a sequel because both Bruce Willis and Daman Wayans lived. The other movie that needed a sequel was Ronin because DeNiro and Jean Reno both survived. Both very underrated Guy Films.
So kid out of western kentucky, andrew jackson, seems real solid, not sure how old he is but definately someone who we should keep an eye on, plays ILB.
also Bobby wagner out of utah state is not to shabby, probs a later round pick, or post 3. but seems solid enough at this point.
and dont act surpised when all i do is watch the front 7!! lol
ALSO..I JUST NOTICED...BUT WHY THE FUCK**** IS THIS A 4 PAGE THREAD, YOU GOD DAMN ASS HOLES, WTF****! THIS IS NOT NORTH KOREA, GOD DAMN IT THATS OVER 7730 DAYS WORTH OF WORK FOR ME PERSONALLY, AND DOUBLE THAT FOR OTHERS GONE! BASTARDS!
but its still interesting that we kept the view count haha, 4 pages have been read nearly 500k times...thats dedication.
Hey guys I noticed that we're bringing in Dorin Dickerson for a workout, I know we have 3 on our roster right now. How do you guys think he'd fit our system better than Johnson or Saunders? The knock on him in Houston was that they were trying to convert him into a WR, we're set at WR so we're def. Bringing him in as a TE his natural position.
If I remember correctly the kid was about 230 lbs.. (Dickerson) A tweener between TE and WR... I doubt he fits our need as a TE unless they are thinking of some other use
