"And I said, 'Oh that I had wings like a dove! For then would I fly away, and be at rest.' "
Psalm 55:6

There are many breathtaking experiences in this life that God has given to us. He has reserved some special things for each of us. These experiences help us touch the wonder of God. They involve us in His mystery, and they remind us of just how great He is. Embrace life fully. Try new things. The Lord is offering you new excitement and opportunity every day of your life.

Grant me wings to soar, Father. Set me upon high places and show me the wonders of Your love. Open my heart to new things, and help me grow. Amen.

Prayers

May 5, 2012 11:54 pm

Amen, Sis.

I think of what waits for us.  After the Lord appears, judges the wicked, and sets up His Millenial Kingdom, He has a wonderful Homecoming planned for us.

Let us rejoice in the goodness of our God!

 Revelations 21

The New Jerusalem, the Bride of the Lamb

9 One of the seven angels who had the seven bowls full of the seven last plagues came and said to me, “Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.” 10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and high, and showed me the Holy City, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God. 11 It shone with the glory of God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel, like a jasper, clear as crystal. 12 It had a great, high wall with twelve gates, and with twelve angels at the gates. On the gates were written the names of the twelve tribes of Israel. 13 There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them were the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15 The angel who talked with me had a measuring rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls. 16 The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide. He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000 stadia[c] in length, and as wide and high as it is long. 17 The angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it was 144 cubits[d] thick.[e] 18 The wall was made of jasper, and the city of pure gold, as pure as glass. 19 The foundations of the city walls were decorated with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation was jasper, the second sapphire, the third agate, the fourth emerald, 20 the fifth onyx, the sixth ruby, the seventh chrysolite, the eighth beryl, the ninth topaz, the tenth turquoise, the eleventh jacinth, and the twelfth amethyst.[f] 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls, each gate made of a single pearl. The great street of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent glass.

22 I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it. 25 On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. 26 The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it. 27 Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Prayers

Praise:  God provides in unexpected ways sometimes it is too much fun being a Christian!

Prayer:  I want to lift up all the requests on this thread and ask that those prayers be answered and that God watch over each and everyone of you.  I also want to pray for our country and the leadership that has been charged with making critical decisions towards our future and ask that they be good ones.  Be with the teachers and kids as school is winding down and let them finish strong with positive outcomes for the future.

Lord thank you for all you do and for answering our prayers in ways we sometimes can't understand and sometime don't expect.  Help and guide us on YOUR path of righteousness and help us to be the best followers/servants we can be.

Amen

Be with the teachers and kids as school is winding down and let them finish strong with positive outcomes for the future.

Thanks, WT.  I am a high school teacher, and every year I have an emotional roller coaster.  Graduation is coming, kids are getting scholarships (and we rejoice), and also some kids make bad decisions about alcohol, drugs, and driving associated with Prom and end graduation parties.  It seems like every year, we go to celebrations and funerals.  No matter how much we educate about the dangers of driving drunk or buzzed, kids think they are invulnerable and enter eternity before their time- and too often- before they know the Lord and are ready.

Heavenly Father, give us the words to say, and the wisdom to set a good example for our youth as they approach critical crossroads of decision in their lives.  God we intercede for your mercy.  We ask that you give us more time to work with those who do not know you.  Send Your Spirit to cut through the fog of confusion and the bad advice of peers to let them know Your love.  Give them ears to hear.  Quicken us and empower us to make a difference.  We ask in Jesus' Precious Name, Amen.

WT and Greg, I add my Amen to yours.  Our children are so precious, they need God to guide their steps and adults to model sound, righteous behavior.  Lord, keep them safe and make them yours early in life so they can be strong in their relationship with You.

"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground."
Ephesians 6:13

As Christians, our entire life is dependent on a life of prayer.  Without a solid foundation of prayer, life will be feeble and ineffective.

Father God, through diligent prayer, I can become a faithful soldier for You. Help me stand for righteousness and never stop praying.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

Gary and Armyman, good to see ya, my bros!  Gary, glad they could rule out MS; I pray they find something treatable to give Paula some relief.  I know what tests and tests and tests  feels like; I would have given up 26 years ago without God's strength!  I have another 2 hour test tomorrow (it's the "every ten years, some doctor thinks you have a brain tumor" test so I'm not much worried about it--I shook my head really hard and nothing rattled so I'm sure there's no  tumor Tongue out).

Spoke with Mom's vascular surgeon today finally.  Her secondary blood vessels have developed sufficient blood flow to counteract the blocked arteries and her ulcers and wounds and swelling is all healed, so the doctors do not believe she needs surgery now---PRAISE GOD!!!!!  She's back to driving and I can turn her loose on the countryside again, and she is very, very glad!  God is good all the time!

Be God's!

Good morning (afternoon for some) everyone.

Continually lifting up each of you and your requests.  No matter what we're going through, the most comforting promise is that our Lord Jesus is always with us - that is more than enough to get us through anything!

Have a wonderful day, and God bless!
