I think lots of young couples fall apart the first time they get disappointed in their spouse or find themselves a little bored.  You have to hang in there and not abandon ship due to the little stuff.

 Still so dang hot that we did not walk far. They were more than happy to come back into the ac, and so was I.

Yep.  Been pretty much house bound this summer here too.  Humidity levels to high for me to deal with for long.  I love AC though.

Nine dogs?  That is was over my limit dear.



 

Hopefully the stormy times don't come for awhile.. 

Senora and I have had our's, BBG, as everyone does.  But in our 41 years together we've both agreed it takes two to make a marriage, and two to screw one up.  Maybe different percentages, one way or the other, at times.  But we also have never mentioned the big D word in our disagreements.  Never crossed our mind to.  You start throwing that word around, then you shouldn't have gotten hitched in the first place.


My two cents, anyway.

Yeah, we always tell each other it's us against the world, together to the end.. but I can see how some couples might get a little jaded after 10 or 20 years.

We hit a rough patch at 7 years. I had married young and started to wonder if "this is all there is". I had a baby and was exhausted. We were building a house. Rough year. I still wonder if Jim knew I was so unhappy. I was too scared to even share that with him. So glad that I told myself to suck it up and stick to it. I would have messed up big time had I had a hissy and left.

We had another when all the kids were in college. We had to learn to talk to one another again since we'd spent the previous 24 years had been spent talking to and about the kids. ha!

Blitzy and BBG will be smarter than I was!

That does make sense.. we aren't all that young at 26 and 29, both got burned before, both had some family troubles in our childhood and are both committed to make it completely different for our kids.  So (cautiously) I think it can last for the long haul!

Senora felt like that at the 11, 22, and 28 year marks, for much the same reasons, Phoggy.  

Well, we thought about it for awhile.  Couldn't find any justification for her feelings other than she believed she was getting to old to fast, and missed her children being home all the time.  I promised to keep her just as busy looking after me as when the kids were around, and she's held me to that promise.  

We just celebrated our 41st on the 24th.   

 Blitzy and BBG will be smarter than I was!

I'm sure they will, but I believe you and the mister have done a pretty good job of it too.

We're still figuring out where to settle down eventually.
