One of the biggest potential free agents of 2010 is officially off the market. Manu Ginobili signed a new three-year deal with the Spurs Thursday, sources confirmed to CBSSports.com.

Ginobili, 32, will make $11.8 million in 2010-11, $12.9 million in '11-12 and $14.1 million in the final year of the deal, bringing the total to more than $38,8 million, sources said.

Ginobili has been a major reason for the Spurs' resurgence since the All-Star break, and now coach Greg Popovich doesn't have to worry about the Argentine star seeking greener pastures as a free agent July 1.

Ginobili extension exceeds $38 million

Too old too old..blah blah blah. The Spurs have 3 players over 30. The Mavs have 2 players UNDER 30. So why is it people think the Spurs are too old?

"You need to be a black man to understand the plight we have gone
through and how the white man is still tring to keep us down. We work
harder than the white man but get less for it/"

Maybe you get less because you act like an idiot, ever thought of that?  Save your crap for the next black panther meeting moron, nobody wants to hear your crying here.  If you feel slighted, go complain to your congressman.  That is if you even voted or know who he/she even are.  Bye bye stupid.

Not everyone is so moneygrubbing as you sound like, specially coming from the same cultural world Manu is from. Some societys in this world can learn to live off of $38million over 3 years when ur parents showed U how to live off of $10k a year. Its quality of life not quantity Mr. Material Boy

He's a good 3rd or 4th option on the team...I think the Spurs need to go after a Center to take pressure off Duncan...Manu will definitely earn his 38 million...McGrady got 25 Million plus for almost nothing and thats for one year....Spurs are a threat with parker , Duncan, and Manu

Ginobili extension exceeds $38 million

Wow! Wow...Another stupid utterly ignorant remark we actually need to read on this blog. Most of the overpaid players in the NBA are African American dude, if u haven't noticed on a predominantly AA league. Don't rag on the foreign born white guy( Argentina, in South America, in case u don't know. Look on a map, about a hands distance below Florida. Bottom right-hand corner of USA) just cause he plays with a lot more heart and passion than most NBA players. He's one of maybe a dozen who actually still drive to the basket instead of just standing at the 3 point line all day. As appreciative I am as a Heat fan for our title, can believe we paid Shaq $25 million a yr! Antoine Walker got paid $8 million to sit on the bench. Marbury the biggest thief in the last 10 yrs, what was he, french? Stick too the facts guys and people will listen and respect you for your mind!

Ginobili extension exceeds $38 million

If my math and general prediction powers are correct (based on past performance averages), he will be earning about $100 per flop with this new contract. Pretty impressive.

Ginobili extension exceeds $38 million

Just the fact that they will give a 32 year old, who is a good player no doubt, a three year extension is absurd. I mean I would give him a 2 year extension maybe I think I would give him that to see how he could produce. Granted he is having a great season. I also would no pay Ginobli 38 Million for 3 years that is like 4 or 5 years for him in my opinion.
