No punishment for Rondo, Paul

After reviewing the altercation between Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul during and after Sunday's game in Boston between the Celtics and Hornets, the NBA decided not to take disciplinary action against either player.

Neither point guard will receive any type of fine or suspension for the fracas, which boiled over after Rondo incensed Paul by reportedly chiding him that he's won a championship and Paul never will. Earlier in the game, won by the Celtics 97-87, each player received a technical foul for a confrontation under the basket. After the final buzzer, the players exchanged words and had to be separated as the teams left the floor. Paul unsuccessfully tried to enter the Celtics' locker room to continue the discussion, and Hornets coach Byron Scott said he overheard Paul saying, "He's going to respect me as a man."

The Celtics are off to a 6-0 start, while the Hornets are struggling out of the gate with a 2-3 record that has only intensified Paul's frustration.

They both received a technical foul during play and they argued after the game.  No blow were thrown and I happy for both players that no disciplinary action was taken.

This only show why people don't like Rondo. He says "i've won a championship, and you never will"Rondo, you barely did anything to help that team win the championship, Do not brag about something that you barely contributed to

Agreed...he was the man at UK, but I guess having a punk @$$ leader like KG on your team will make even a 170lbs NBA star into a big douche.

Yep.  I still laugh when I see the replay of him cowering like a little girl from Kirk Hinrich during last years layoff series.

I guess I will need to get tickets to all the Celtic-Hornets games. So this way when i go to a basketball game I migh see basket brawl. Seriously, this is good, and I hope this stays on the basketball court. I do not want to here anyone getting hurt over words.

If I could speak to both players, let it go and repect one another. You are to gifted and make to much money to blow it away.

Ehhhhhh.

Why is it that everytime a player gets a ring he has a thousand haters???

Everyone posting negative comments about Rondo obviously doesn't watch the Celtics on a regular basis. He does nothing but get hammered to the floor by everyone who he schools when he drives past them and passes around them.

I haven't seen him start an altercation yet and I watch every Celtics game. He makes his opponents look bad and then he gets hammered hard and when he defends himself he is labeled a trouble maker???

Haters go home!

Ken,

So we know the NBA is using decent judgement. They are right to allow this to move forward without any fines or suspension. In all reality, this really should be a non-story.

I don't understand how some of the other comments can say that Rondo did nothing to help that team win a championship... Please. He was a huge part of that title run, it was a total team effort. Lest we forget that there was no one besides Rondo who could handle the point guard position at the end of the regular season, not to mention that Rondo absolutely owned the Laker backcourt in the Finals. Did you guys even watch the playoffs? Rondo is a legit threat, and why is it so wrong for him to talk trash? Would you rather have someone talk a little trash or whine and complain everytime someone breathes on him the way some stars do (AAACHEWWW Kobe Bryant).

As for KG, he is far from a punk. It's ridiculous for anyone to suggest so. Garnett is what is called a leader... Plain and simple. Is anyone a punk because they bring intensity and tenaciousness with them everytime they step on the floor? I wouldn't think so.

Either way, the Celtics are going to be real strong and tough to deal with for all of the NBA this year. But like this blog topic, that should have to go without saying.

RickyP we gotta do something about that selective memory of yours... you've never seen Rondo start anything? How about last year when he threw Kirk Hinrich into a table? The best part (as it's been mentioned) was  Rondo running away like a little B**** when Hinrich went after him.

Moral of the story: Rondo's a 5 star b****
