Rasheed Wallace was receptive to the Celtics' All-Star recruiting pitch, but will be listening to other teams before deciding his future, a person with knowledge of the discussions told CBSSports.com.

The pitch Thursday in Detroit, attended by Celtics players, coach Doc Rivers, president Danny Ainge, and managing partner Wyc Grousbeck, impressed Wallace and was termed "very good meeting." Contract parameters were discussed -- it is believed Wallace would get the mid-level for 2-3 years -- but Wallace wants to hear other offers. According to the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Cavaliers have yet to contact Wallace, indicating their lack of interest. San Antonio has expressed interest, and the Orlando Sentinel reported Friday that the Magic have contacted Wallace's agent, Bill Strickland.

SHEED IS A GOOD PLAYER. HE CAN SHOOT THE 3 BALL, HE HAS NICE POST MOVES, AND HE LONG ARMS MAKE HIM A GOOD DEFENDER. I THINK I GOOD FIT WOULD BE EITHER CLEVELAND OR SAN ANTONIO. WHEN HES WINNING HE IS A GOOD TEAMMATE BUT I SEEN THE PLAYOFFS WHEN DETROIT GOT SWEEP BY THE CAVS AND HE GAVE UP AFTER GAME 1. SO SHEED A GOOD PICK UP FOR A CONTENDING TEAM THAT CAN DEAL WITH HIS ATTITUDE OR HAVE THE PLAYERS/COACHES THAT CAN DO IT. AS FOR THE CELTICS I DONT LIKE THEM...... IMMMA BULLS FANS...... LOL BUT NEVERTHELESS HE WOULD BE AN IDEAL FIT FOR THEM AND I COULD SEE THEM IN THE FINALS WITH HIM IF GARNETT CAN STAY HEALTHY AND THE CAN FIND SOMEONE LIKE POSEY WHEN THE WON THE TITLE.

this trade is not smart, they need younger players to develop not old overrated paychecks. Ray and K.G are gone in 3-5 seasons. think smart

Wow, what a joke. I hope the Celtics sign Rasheed Wallace because it will make them only that weaker of a team. They become older, more injury prone, and have a worse attitude with lower chances of good chemistry. This is getting worse than the New York Yankees!

The Boston Celtics better hope and pray that their "All-Star" lineup stays healthy and perform up to their level, because they aren't banking on anything else at all. I'll be surprised if this team doesn't melt down this year. Even if they do stay healthy, they still are going to have a hell of a time coming together as a team and taking over as the best team in the NBA.

Rasheed, as much as I love you and have respected your game for years... your time is about up. Nowadays when you have a good night, most people are surprised and say, "Wow, Rasheed had a good night. How awesome would he be if he could do that every night like he used to?" Hope he takes what he can get in terms of money and joins a team that actually needs him.

This doesn't surpise me coming from a laker fan.  The celtics "all star" lineup is and will be even better than your laker lineup with Kobe and Artest.  You sound worried that the celtics will beat up on the lakes again in the finals but don't want to admit it.  You talk about Rasheed having a bad attitude when things aren't going well, but the lakers just signed the king of all bad attitudes with artest.  Good luck having that one work out for your team.  See you in the finals where the celtics will get #18 next season.

Celtic's Demiss!!!!

This would be great for the rest of the Teams in the East. All those OLD guys running around trying to make it happen. It will be a long time before they ever see another Championship. Cleveland,Orlando,Atlanta..etc. must be sitting there clicking their heels, wiating for the Celtic's to sign him. Looks like number 5 for <strong><em>"The Black Mamba</em></strong>"....It only gets easier!

I think he should take a look at the warriors....they will suprise a lot of teams this year. with a healthy team they will be a force in the western conference. But they could use his experience and leadership and his toughnest.the warriors are young and will run teams of the floor this year. you heard it hear first. rasheed your a warrior might as well play for them.

Funny! If you think that the Celtics lineup is better that the Lakers then you definately dont watch basketball! Kobe locks down Ray Allen and Artest locks down Paul Pierce. Garnett gets his and Bynum and Gasol get Wallace in foul trouble. Celtics have NO bench! Big Baby probobly leaves for more money. Leon Powe is garbage. Eddie House is a shooter but cant guard anyone. Please make it to the Finals I wanna see you! I'll be shocked is Wallace signs for the mid-level though! He has a ring so his motivation is financial. I think he goes to the Spurs.
